I agree that it's a pretty good system, but it's not bulletproof. They tout their 'secret key' like it's the answer to all of life's problems. While I agree that 1P has some pretty impressive security (it's why I use them), why would you not want to have MORE security for an app that holds the keys to EVERYTHING ELSE in your life? I like 1P and I've been using it for a while, but I enabled 2FA as well. Therefore you should have a plan B in the unlikely even that happens.īut they recommended I don't, claiming that it's not necessary That way if either of you lose your devices, you can count on the other in case you lose access to your accounts.Īgain this might be overkill for some, but you gotta remember that increasing the security of your online accounts, means increasing the risk of getting locked out. They wouldn't have the passwords, just the 2FA codes. If you have a life partner that you trust, you can also have them save your 2FA codes on their device and vice versa. 1P is my primary authenticator app but in case I accidentally a 2FA code, I have them saved in Authy too.ģ. This might sound stupid but I have accidentally delete entries in my password manager before, or didn't save them properly. I also installed in on my computer, but I practically never use it there. I only have one mobile device, my iPhone, where I have Authy installed.

It might be overkill but I do that just in case I lose access to one.

If you also use 1P to save 2FA codes for other accounts, I would recommend also saving them on an authenticator app like Authy. That way if you lose one device, you have access to your 2FA codes on others. You can have it on multiple devices silmultaneously, including your desktop computer. Use an authenticator that syncs across device (eg Authy). But in the future, with something as important as you password manager, if you are going to use 2FA, I highly recommend that What's your 2FA client? As in which authenticator app do you use? I was going to enable 2FA with my 1P account, but they recommended I don't, claiming that it's not necessary with 1P because you need your security key every time you log in on a new device.
